I could not have asked for a better experience with a lactation consultant than I had with Rachel. She handled all of my questions with understanding and patience and she took time to make sure she fully understood the individual challenges my son and I were facing while breastfeeding for the first time. Rachel was able to accurately asses my son's lip tie and tongue tie, determine how each affected his ability to latch and feed, and make additional recommendations. She was also able to give me helpful advice on how to manage being a copious breast milk "overproducer". Through Rachel's counseling I felt equipped and enabled to master my son's feeding schedule and to use my breast pump effectively. Rachel showed remarkable empathy, especially the few times that I called her in tears because I was struggling with breastfeeding. It was because of Rachel that I was able to meet my goal of breastfeeding my son with no formula supplementation for the first 12 months of his life.

I’m so thankful I met Rachel! At the time of my first consult, I was battling mastitis and completely drained - emotionally and physically. From the beginning of the appointment, Rachel made me feel supported and comfortable while she showed me proper latching and comfortable nursing positions. After observing our session and my son, it became clear to Rachel he had a tongue-tie that was affecting his nursing. She promptly referred me to a pediatric dentist where we proceeded to have a frenectomy done for our son. I am happy to say my son still nurses today and he is 10.5 months old. Rachel has become a family friend who even helps us with babysitting! We are so appreciative of all her help and absolutely recommend working with her!
